Post #1: What does the Life of Christ mean to me?

What does the life of Christ mean to me?

Matt. 4:19, "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

This was an invitation given throughout Christ's life here on the Earth. But what does it mean to me?

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matt. 1: 21)

I learn many things from the birth and life of Christ. First of all, Jesus Christ-- though born in a stable, amidst very humble circumstances, had a purpose, and lived to fulfill that purpose. In today's society, the natural man looks to blame others for the failures and trials that one experiences in life. We tell ourselves that because our mother, father, grandpa, etc. was an addict, abuser, poor, etc. we are bound to the same actions. Christ came from what we would call in today's society a "broken family." He was born in a stable. He had every reason to complain and find fault with the world. Why didn't He?

In Matthew 1, Mary learns that she will give birth to a little boy, who she should name Jesus. His purpose: to save us from our sins. Christ lived his purpose, taught His purpose; He knew His purpose. What does this mean for me?

I have many tools to use to discover my purpose. Through personal revelation, patriarchal blessing, guidance from parents and leaders, I can learn more about why I am here on Earth. Once I discover this purpose-- I can learn to live it like Christ.
